Jamese Kwele, Co-Founder of the Black Food Fund, has joined the Just Economy Institute Fellowship, an influential and innovative network of financial activists (183 strong) working to shift capital and power in service of a more just economy.
Jamese is participating in the 9-month JEI Fellowship alongside 26 other financial activists committed to shifting the flow of capital & power in service of a more just economy.
Through this experience, Jamese will explore new ways to create community wealth while building the capacity of the Black Food Fund to use effective capital activation strategies.
The fellowship kicked off at the end of October 2023 with the first of three weeklong immersions at Paicines Ranch.
The connection, joy, and compassion I experienced on the land and in community with this extraordinary group of leaders was truly transformational.

I’m excited to continue to delve deeper into inner work + peer coaching, develop my creative capital calling, explore new ways to create community wealth, and harness all that I’m learning to build the Black Food Fund’s capacity to use effective capital activation strategies.
